Betty's Multi-Purpose Cream

"Over the last 15 years I have grown a deep appreciation for these simple yet highly effective herbs. Please join me on a little herb walk through my garden," says Betty Norton, renowned herbalist, author and nutritional consultant.

Calendula flowers offer many benefits, especially for inflammatory conditions such as eczema, itchy, dry and flaky skin, rashes, and skin ulcers. Calendula speeds healing of cuts, helps prevent scarring and contains antiseptic properties.

Chamomile is a healing wonder: it contains anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory compounds. It is good for dry and sensitive skin. In Germany it is considered one of the best herbs for the healing of wounds.

Burdock originated in Europe and lucky for us it grows almost everywhere. It can be used for eczema, psoriasis, dry and scaly skin as well as reddened, hot skin conditions, plus it speeds up the healing of wounds.

Red clover is very helpful for helping chronic skin aliments. This may be due to its' high mineral content, or perhaps because the skin is an organ, and what we put on it does affect what goes on inside the body.

Plantain is to my family "the band-aid plant". It can help draw out slivers and soothe bug bites. Plantain has anti-microbial properties, which are good for minor wounds, and it has emollient properties, making it great for dry skin conditions

Nettle has anti-histamine properties making it helpful for soothing skin rashes and inflammations. It is also high in vitamins, minerals and chlorophyll, which are all very nourishing to the skin.

Comfrey leaf is a very potent healer of wounds. So potent that comfrey should not be used until the second or third day of healing a wound, as its’ regenerative action may cause the skin to close over too quickly, causing the outer skin to heal before the inner wound is ready. When used externally this plant can help with persistent skin conditions.

Oregon Grape Root contains berberine, which is an excellent anti-bacterial compound. Many herbalists use it internally for liver support, and, as the liver and skin are related, it complements this cream perfectly. Recent German studies have shown Oregon Grape Root to be highly effective for treating psoriasis.

Propolis is a pine resin collected by bees and used to keep their hive sterile. It is very high in vitamins and anti-inflammatory compounds, and has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties.

All these wonderful herbs have been combined into one multi-purpose healing cream, without harmful chemicals. BETTY'S OWN CREAM can be used for cuts, burns, scrapes, rashes, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, diaper rash, and any dry, itchy and/or flaky skin ailment. Try it as a night cream just to preserve and rejuvenate your face.
